Pull into the spacious, well-lit parking lot off Shomaker Drive and you already get a sense of what kind of place this is: thoughtfully run, well-maintained, and built for people who actually show up. The keycard entry keeps things comfortable and secure, and once you step inside the clean bar room with its sturdy bar chairs and dining tables, it's clear the members here take real pride in what they've built.

The Queen of Hearts drawing is a local legend, pulling regulars back week after week with the kind of anticipation that only a well-run, community-rooted event can generate. With a 4.5-star rating backed by over 86 reviews, the lodge has earned its reputation not through marketing slogans but through consistent, friendly service and food that genuinely satisfies.

Elks Lodge #572 is part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, a national fraternal organization with deep roots in American civic life. But locally, it's simply the place in Murphysboro where good people gather, cold drinks flow at fair prices, and the staff knows how to make you feel at home from the first visit.

What We Offer

The lodge delivers a full bar experience with drinks priced the way a members' club should price them, honestly and without pretense. The dining side punches well above its weight, offering hot, satisfying meals that multiple visitors have called out specifically for quality and value. Friendly staff make the difference between a transaction and an evening worth remembering.

Beyond food and drinks, Elks Lodge #572 hosts regular events including the popular Queen of Hearts raffle, social nights, and member-driven programming that keeps the calendar full. The large, illuminated parking lot means evening events are always accessible and comfortable, whether you're dropping in solo or arriving with a group.

Membership opens the door to reciprocal privileges at Elks lodges nationwide, plus the satisfaction of supporting local charitable initiatives that the BPOE has championed for generations. Guests are welcome with a member sponsor, making it easy to experience the lodge before committing.

"Stopped in to the Elks in Murphysboro IL. Got a tour from the ER and Secretary. Their story is similar to ours at Franklin 1818. If you don't grow, you die. Everybody was friendly and we will probably pay them another visit before we leave the area."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
